On December 6, 2024, the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) issued amendments related to warning labels. Starting January 1, 2025, the updated short-form warning requirements under California Proposition 65 will officially take effect, featuring several significant changes:
✅ Additional signal word options: “CA WARNING” or “CALIFORNIA WARNING,” allowing businesses to clarify that the warning is issued under California law. These options supplement the word “WARNING” and can be used for both long- and short-form warnings.
✅ Requirement to display at least one chemical on short-form warnings.
✅ Introduction of new warning methods for food products, passenger vehicle components, off-road vehicles, and recreational boats.
✅ A 3-year transition period for updates.
